Found Art: Wall Sculpture

When a friend who works in the museum world saw this piece on my wall she looked puzzled. A while later she asked casually, "Have you spent a lot of money collecting art?" I asked what made her think so and she said she loved the large abstract, but it looked like it was pricey.

Another triumph for found art. This is an old boat fender (a float suspended between boats when they're in dock so they don't bang into each other) that I found washed up on shore. It's big (about 3 feet wide by 2 feet high). Presumably the paint splashes were made when someone was painting a boat or something else nearby, and the fact that the paint has peeled and rotted a bit makes it all the more wonderful.
